Trial monitoring also in Central Bosnia Canton

0 1Monitoring of criminal proceedings except in Zenica-Doboj, Herzegovina-Neretva Canton will also be implemented in Central Bosnia Canton. Today in Bugojno the President of the Bugojno Municipal Court, Randžana Hadžibegović Haracic, and the President of the Center of Legal Assistance for Women, have signed a Protocol of Cooperation. By signing the Protocol cooperation, understanding and support for the implementation of the project "Improvement of prevention and combating gender-based violence in BiH" has been formalized. By monitoring of criminal proceedings in cases of sexual and gender-based violence, we will advocate for increasing the protection and improvement of the system response to violence against women.

Signed Protocol on Cooperation with Municipal Court in Mostar

1Today in Mostar President of the Municipal Court in Mostar, Marin Zadrić, and President of the Centre of Legal Assistancefor Women, Meliha Sendić, signed a Protocol of Cooperation in the implementation of the project "Improving prevention and combating gender-based violence in BiH".
The signed Protocol symbolizes willingness to cooperation and contribution to establishing a coordinated and effective system of protection of victims of gender-based violence. The intention of the Center is, through its central activity which is trial monitoring of criminal proceedings in cases of sexual and gender-based violence, conducts fact-based advocacy for increase of protection and improvement of the system response to violence against victims.

Signed Protocol on cooperation in the implementation of the project "Improving prevention and combating gender-based violence in BiH"

IMG 6938On 19.04.2016. in the premisses of the Cantonal Court in Zenica, President of the Cantonal Court in Zenica, Snjezana Čolaković and President of the Center of Legal Assistance for Women, Meliha Sendić have concluded and signed a Protocol on cooperation in the implementation of the project "Improving prevention and combating gender-based violence in BiH".
The central activity of the planned project is trial monitoring in cases of sexual and gender-based violence, which will be implemented between the period of signing the Protocol untill the end of 2017.
The intention of the Center is to contribute to the establishment of a coordinated and effective system of protection of victims of gender-based violence, with the aim of increasing long-term protection and improvement of the system response to violence against victims. Information is also published on the official page of the Cantonal Court in Zenica.

Promotion of the program for protection of victims of discrimination

1525531 10206283915510688 2847524509530744455 nOn the program of Radio Television Zenica today, in the afternoon, we held a promotion of the program of free legal aid to victims of discrimination. Our intention was to bring closer the understanding of what discrimination is, how to recognize it and what steps each of us can take to protect ourselves. We met the audience that the Center of Legal Assistance for Women is a safe place where they can share their experiences of discrimination, get support, information, advice and legal aid.

This activity was realized within the first cycle of small grants of the program „Coalition Equality for All“. This program is possible thanks to the support of United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Open Society Fund BiH.
